Housing Navigation Support
Develop new or support and enhance existing, Fair Housing and “Housing 101” trainings to increase community members understanding of the housing system and how to overcome accessing affordable housing barriers. Training should focus on federal and state fair housing laws, particularly tenant rights, and can be offered alongside other promising strategies, such as eviction prevention clinics. Training facilitators can include housing coordinators and ecosystem builders.
An example are the trainings offered through the Fair Housing Project at Legal Aid of NC.
This promising strategy requires investment in:
- Labor hours to analyze, improve, and/or develop trainings
- Labor hours to recruit community members and deliver trainings
